Wyoming jumped out to a 13-point lead in the first half and held off a late comeback attempt by the Cougars, eking out a 13-10 victory over BYU.

Trailing 13-0 at the beginning of the second half, the Cougars finally got on the board after a 30-yard field goal by Matt Payne. BYU pulled to within three points after Fahu Tahi scored on a two-yard run.

With just under two minutes to play, the Cougars forced Wyoming to punt the ball, taking over on their own 10-yard line. The Cougars drove down to the Cowboy 30-yard line after Matt Berry completed passes to Toby Christensen, Philip Niu and Jason Kukahiko, before BYU's comeback bid was stopped short after a pass was tipped and intercepted. This was Matt Berry's first game back after sitting out four games with a broken finger.
