BYU became bowl eligible for the fourth-consecutive season and improved to 6-0 after a 21-3 victory over New Mexico at LaVell Edwards Stadium. During BYU’s scoreless first quarter, the Lobos put up the first points of the game with a 27-yard field goal, giving New Mexico its only points of the day. Junior quarterback Max Hall came to life connecting with junior tight end Andrew George on a 1-yard touchdown pass to overcome the deficit. Hall and George also connected on an 11-yard pass in the third quarter. Hall finished the day completing 22-for-34 passes for 258 yard. Collie led the team with a career-high 155 yards on nine catches. Hall and Collie added another touchdown to the BYU lead with an 8-yard pass into the end zone. The BYU defensive unit continued to keep the Lobos out of the end zone.
